The Vesda VHX-0420 is a Modbus Type 3 High Level Interface (HLI). Specifically, it connects a VESDAnet network to host systems. First, it links VESDAnet to a Building Management System (BMS) or Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP). Then, it reports detector status over Modbus.
This HLI acts as a proxy for every VESDA device on the VESDAnet network. As a result, the host can read status and configure connected detectors. In addition, alarms reach the host within a few seconds of a detector activating.
What the Vesda VHX-0420 does
The Modbus Type 3 HLI bridges VESDAnet and Modbus host platforms. Furthermore, it supports up to 100 VESDA detectors on a single VESDAnet network. Also, each VESDA zone maps to a Modbus address. Therefore, the host can retrieve overall network status.
