The Vesda VLF-500-00-UL is a VESDA LaserFOCUS aspirating smoke detector from Life Safety Consultants. It protects small, business-critical spaces. As a result, you get very early warning of smoke.
How the Vesda VLF-500-00-UL works
This detector continuously draws air through sampling holes in a pipe network. First, the air is filtered. Then, it passes into a laser detection chamber. Therefore, light-scattering technology can spot tiny amounts of smoke.
The VLF-500 covers up to 5,000 sq ft (about 500 m2), subject to local codes. In addition, it includes three changeover relays: Fire 1, Action, and Fault. These contacts are rated 2 A at 30 VDC maximum.
Display and listing
This model ships with English display labels for simpler setup. Furthermore, it carries a UL listing. Always install it per the manufacturer’s manual and NFPA 72.
