The Simplex 2088-9607 is a flush-mount electromagnetic door holder. It operates on 24 VDC, 24 VAC, or 120 VAC. The OEM cross-reference is 185-143 (DH24120RPC).
First, the magnet mounts flush to the wall — only the magnet face and catch plate are visible. Then the door’s mating armature plate contacts the magnet face. As a result, the magnet holds the door open under normal conditions.
In addition, the holder releases the door automatically when the fire alarm panel cuts power to the circuit. Therefore, the door swings closed and compartmentalizes the building per NFPA 80 and NFPA 101 requirements.
