The Edwards G4RB surface box provides a red surface-mount enclosure for Genesis Series wall-mount speakers and speaker-strobes. First, it lets you mount a G4S speaker on a finished wall when a flush electrical box is not available. As a result, retrofits and exposed installations become straightforward.
The Edwards G4RB surface box is a passive enclosure. Specifically, it does NOT include the speaker, strobe, or wiring plate. Therefore, order the speaker, the GRSW room side wiring plate, and the G4RB separately for a complete installation.
Application
This box is designed for the Genesis G4S Series speaker family (for example, G4SRN, G4SRF, G4SVRF, G4SVWN). Furthermore, it serves both speaker-only and speaker-strobe models within the family. Use it in concrete, block, or any surface where running a flush 4 inch box is impractical. Also, the surface box approach simplifies retrofit work in existing buildings.
Color and Finish
The G4RB housing is color-impregnated engineered plastic in red. As a result, the red color matches Genesis Series red appliances without paint touch-up. In addition, the textured finish hides minor handling marks during installation. The matching white-finish equivalent is the G4WSB.
Installation Note
The G4RB is a two-gang surface mount box sized to match the G4S appliance footprint. Then the speaker mounts to the box face via the standard GRSW wiring plate. However, the box itself is NOT a wiring plate — the GRSW plate is still required. Finally, confirm conduit knockout positions match your wire entry plan before installing.
