The Siemens RL-HC (part# 500-033230) is a ceiling-mount remote alarm lamp. It provides visible alarm indication for initiating devices that are concealed or not exposed to view. The lamp mounts to a standard 4-inch octagonal outlet box.
Hidden detectors create a visibility problem. For example, devices above ceilings or inside ducts can’t be seen in alarm. Therefore, the RL-HC repeats the alarm indication at a visible ceiling location. Responders then locate the activated device quickly.
Siemens RL-HC Installation
Mount the RL-HC on a 4-inch octagonal box at the ceiling. The lamp can be placed up to 25 feet from its detector. Wiring uses 14-to-18 gauge, 3-conductor wire. In addition, screw-type terminals make connections straightforward. Unit weight is 1.0 lb.
