The Notifier AFAWS-LR is a recessed-mount latch door for the AFAWS firefighter telephone wall station. First, it covers the AFAWS firefighter handset enclosure in voice-evacuation systems. As a result, the handset stays protected between emergency uses while remaining quickly accessible.
Specifically, the door uses a thumb-latch operator instead of a key cylinder. Therefore, firefighters can open it in seconds during a response. In addition, the red baked-enamel finish matches the rest of the AFAWS family for a uniform appearance.
Notifier AFAWS-LR door dimensions
The door measures 16-3/16 in. high by 9-9/16 in. wide. In metric, that is 411.00 mm × 242.85 mm. Furthermore, the door is sized to fit AFAWS recessed enclosures only.
For surface-mount installations, choose the AFAWS-LS latch door instead. Alternatively, the AFAWS-KS provides a key-lock door for surface mounting where keyed access is required.
Where the AFAWS-LR fits
First, the AFAWS series provides firefighter communication stations at stair landings and other response points. Then, this latch-style recessed door is the right pick when the enclosure is recessed. Furthermore, the fast-open latch suits sites where a key cylinder would slow response.
