SECUTRON (MRI-4050) Secutron 4000 Series Sync Module

The Secutron MRI-4050 is a sync module for MGC notification appliances. It synchronizes strobe flashes with the audio signal pattern. As a result, the device complies with NFPA 72 sync requirements without requiring programming.

First, the MRI-4050 synchronizes one Class A or two Class B NAC lines. In addition, the same protocol can silence horns while keeping strobes flashing. Furthermore, no SLC address is required — the module sits between the panel NAC and the field appliances.

How the Secutron MRI-4050 Operates

Specifically, the module is fail-safe. By default, an internal relay passes NAC power straight through to the field appliances. As a result, a sync-module failure cannot silence the NAC.

Also, the MRI-4050 has an isolated silence input. Furthermore, the isolated sync I/O lets you chain up to twenty MRI-4050 modules together. Therefore, building-wide strobe sync needs no extra programming on the panel.

Power and Panel Compatibility

The MRI-4050 works with any UL or ULC listed panel or power supply. Specifically, it accepts regulated 24 V DC or 24 V FWR on the NAC input. In addition, the module draws no power during standby. Therefore, total NAC budget is preserved for the notification appliances themselves.
