The Edwards 115-6Y-06K is a magnetically actuated reed safety interlock switch in the 115 Series GuardSwitch family. First, this is an industrial machine-guarding product — not a fire alarm device. Specifically, it monitors guard position on machinery such as conveyors, packaging equipment, and process enclosures. Therefore, it interfaces with PLCs, safety relays, and machine-control systems rather than fire alarm panels.
What the Edwards 115-6Y-06K is
This is a non-contact magnetic position switch with a 6-foot SJTOW cable lead. As a result, it senses the presence or absence of a matching magnet actuator without physical contact. In addition, the nylon 6/6 housing tolerates washdown and dusty industrial environments. Then the normally open reed contact closes when the actuator magnet is within sensing range.

What this switch is NOT
However, the 115-6Y-06K is not a fire alarm device, a strobe, or a door-holder reed. Therefore, it does not carry UL 268, UL 464, UL 1971, or NFPA 72 listings. Furthermore, it is not intended for life-safety door coordination or smoke-control applications.
Compatibility
The 115-6Y-06K wires to any PLC input, safety relay, or machine-control circuit that accepts a dry-contact N.O. signal within the contact rating. In addition, the matching magnet actuator (115-Y) should be specified separately if not already on hand.
