The Edwards 203-8A-T is a 110 cd 120 VAC fire alarm strobe in the legacy 203 Series. First, this is a notification appliance for hearing-impaired alerting and general life-safety signaling. Specifically, the 203 family operates directly from line-voltage 120 VAC building power — distinct from the 24 VDC notification appliances on modern NAC circuits. Therefore, it suits retrofit and replacement scenarios where existing 120 VAC strobe wiring is already in place.
What the Edwards 203-8A-T strobe does
This strobe delivers a 110 cd effective flash intensity. As a result, it provides clearly visible notification across typical office, school, and corridor spaces. In addition, the fire-retardant high-impact plastic housing carries a slightly textured red finish with standard wall-mount “FIRE” lens markings. Then polarized terminals accept up to #12 AWG (2.5 mm²) wire for field connection.
