Simplex 4098-9613E Heat Detector — 135°F Electronic, Humid Environment
The Simplex 4098-9613E heat detector is a genuine OEM electronic heat detector. It uses a thermistor-based sensing element. Specifically, it activates at a fixed 135°F (57°C). Moreover, the “E” version suits humid environments.
How the Simplex 4098-9613E heat detector works
A fast-response thermistor reads temperature continuously. Therefore, it signals quickly once the fixed threshold is exceeded. The design is self-restoring after the heat clears. In addition, an alarm-indicating LED sits on the detector.
This detector connects to conventional initiating device circuits. As a result, it works with Simplex two-wire and four-wire detector bases. Its alarm output is current-limited for IDC compatibility. Remote alarm LED base options are also available.
Coverage and listings
The detector carries a UL and ULC listed spacing of 70 ft (21.3 m). Furthermore, it is built for EMI compatibility. For exact base and wiring details, consult the Simplex installation instructions.
