Simplex 4098-9615 — 200°F Fixed-Temperature and Rate-of-Rise Heat Detector
The Simplex 4098-9615 is a genuine OEM electronic heat detector. It combines fixed-temperature and rate-of-rise sensing. Specifically, it activates at a fixed 200°F (93°C). In addition, a dual-thermistor design adds rate-of-rise response.
How the Simplex 4098-9615 detects heat
Two thermistors track temperature continuously. Therefore, the detector responds to a rapid temperature rise as well as a fixed limit. The rate-of-rise mode suits areas where normal temperature changes stay gradual. As a result, it helps limit nuisance alarms.
The unit connects to conventional initiating device circuits. Then it works with Simplex two-wire and four-wire bases. Its alarm output is current-limited for IDC compatibility. Also, an alarm-indicating LED is located on the detector.
Coverage and listings
The detector provides a UL and ULC listed spacing of 70 ft (21.3 m). Furthermore, it is self-restoring once heat subsides. Remote alarm LED base options support two-wire or four-wire operation.
