The Notifier ACM-8R is an ACS Series annunciator control module with eight Form-C relays. First, each relay can be mapped to system points via on-board DIP switches. As a result, the panel can trigger HVAC shutdown, door release, or other auxiliary functions on alarm or trouble.
How the Notifier ACM-8R works
The ACM-8R rides the RS-485 annunciator trunk like any other ACS module. Specifically, it accepts a 1–32 address on rotary switches and a relay assignment on DIP switch SW3. In addition, an end-of-line resistor sits across the last unit on the trunk.
Relay capacity and contact ratings
Each ACM-8R provides eight Form-C, gold-plated silver-alloy contacts. Specifically, UL contact ratings are 5 A @ 125 VAC (resistive) or 5 A @ 30 VDC (resistive). Also, the relays are rated 2 A @ 125 VAC inductive. Contacts are not intended for motor or pilot duty.
Power and wiring
The module runs from 24 VDC regulated power supplied by the panel or a remote supply. Furthermore, standby current is 30 mA and maximum current with all relays active is 158 mA. The RS-485 trunk uses 16–18 AWG twisted-shielded pair, up to 6,000 ft at 16 AWG.
Compatible panels
The ACM-8R works with the NFS(2)-3030, NFS(2)-640, NFS-320, NCA-2, IFC-1010/2020, IFC-200, and FC-2000. Therefore, it covers both ONYX Series and legacy Notifier addressable panels.
