The System Sensor B501-IV is a 4-inch flangeless plug-in detector base. It provides a clean, low-profile mount for System Sensor 200-Series intelligent detector heads. As a result, the detector sits flush for a discreet ceiling appearance.
The base itself is a passive mounting platform. Specifically, the installed detector head handles all addressable communication. Therefore, the B501-IV simply provides wiring terminals and a secure detector mount.
System Sensor B501-IV Wiring and Mounting
Screw terminals connect power and a remote LED annunciator. In addition, the terminals accept 12 to 24 AWG wire. Communication then takes place over the power lines through the detector head.
The B501-IV mounts to standard electrical boxes. Also, an optional mechanical locking feature deters unwanted detector removal. As a result, the head stays secure in tamper-prone areas.
