The Bosch BATB-40 is a UL Listed red battery box for fire alarm and burglary control panels. First, it holds up to two auxiliary batteries in a single-level layout. Then the optional BATB-SHELF expands capacity to four batteries.
Specifically, the BATB-40 measures 22 in. x 21 in. x 7.5 in. (55.9 cm x 53.3 cm x 19 cm). In addition, it is built from 18-gauge (1.2 mm) cold-rolled steel and finished in standard fire-alarm red.
Where the Bosch BATB-40 fits
The BATB-40 is dual-purpose. First, use it as a stand-alone battery enclosure mounted next to any compatible control panel. Alternatively, use it as the actual control panel enclosure for select Bosch fire/burg control communicators.
Compatible control panels
The BATB-40 is UL Listed as an enclosure for the following Bosch panels: B9512G, B8512G, D9412GV4, D7412GV4, and D7212GV4. However, when used as a control panel enclosure, the BATB-SHELF must be removed. Therefore, choose layout based on whether batteries or the panel board takes priority.
Compatible batteries
The BATB-40 accepts Bosch’s full 12V auxiliary battery range. For example, the D126 (12V/7Ah), D1218 (12V/18Ah), D1224 (12V/24Ah), and D1238 (12V/38Ah). Also smaller D1213, D1222, D1240, and D1250 cells fit when standby needs are lower. However, all batteries in one box must be the same voltage, rating, and type.
Listings and certifications
The BATB-40 carries UL ANSI/UL 864 listing as a control unit accessory for fire alarm systems. In addition, it is CSFM listed. The combined weight with batteries can reach 140 lb (63.5 kg), so verify wall mounting capacity before installation.
