The Gentex CO1209 is a single- and multiple-station electrochemical carbon monoxide alarm. Specifically, it detects CO and sounds a Temporal-4 alarm. In addition, it runs on 120 VAC with a 9-volt battery backup. As a result, it keeps protecting during a power loss.
Gentex CO1209 detection and alarm
This alarm uses an electrochemical CO sensor with about a five-year life. Therefore, it responds at UL 2034 alarm thresholds. Specifically, it alarms at 70 ppm within 1-4 hours and 400 ppm within 4-15 minutes. Furthermore, the horn produces 85 dBA at 10 feet.
Specifications and where it fits
The CO1209 draws 0.045 A at 120 VAC, 60 Hz. Also, the 9-volt backup powers the alarm for at least 24 hours. Its operating range runs from 40°F to 100°F. However, it mounts universally on a wall or ceiling. Finally, you can interconnect multiple stations for shared alarming.
