Ditek (DTK-2MHLP48BWB) Data and signaling circuit surge protector with snap-track base for two 48v circuits

The Ditek DTK-2MHLP48BWB bundles a 48 V hybrid surge suppression module with a hardwired Snap-Track base. As a result, the assembly protects two 48 V signal pairs and ships ready to install. In addition, the module is field-replaceable. Therefore, replacement after a strike is fast.

First, the module uses a multi-stage hybrid SAD + GDT topology. Furthermore, it clamps fast transients at the gas-discharge front end and the SAD back end together. As a result, the protection is suitable for both AC and DC 48 V low-voltage circuits. Also, the module fails by shorting to ground when compromised. Therefore, technicians can identify a damaged module quickly in the field.

Then, the included hardwired base accepts 30-12 AWG field wiring on screw terminals. In addition, the base can be daisy-chained with additional bases on a common ground. Specifically, a DTK-5MB protects up to 10 pairs in one footprint.

Typical Applications

First, telco and 48 V signaling circuits. In addition, certain CCTV and audio distribution pairs that run at 48 V. Also, panel auxiliary loops where 48 V is the service voltage. Furthermore, PoE midspan signaling pairs are NOT a fit — use the DITEK MRJ series for PoE.

Application Note

The “WB” suffix means the hardwired base is included. As a result, no separate base order is required. Also, match module voltage to loop voltage. Specifically, the 48 V module is for 48 V circuits only. For 12 V, 24 V, or 36 V loops, choose the matching DTK-2MHLP12BWB / 24BWB / 36BWB. Alternatively, order the DTK-2MHLP48B module alone if you already have compatible Snap-Track bases.
