The Edwards 435DEX-6G1 is a 6-inch explosionproof DC vibrating bell. First, it serves hazardous-location signaling where standard bells cannot operate. Specifically, it suits Class I and Class II divisions where flammable vapors or dust may be present.
Where the Edwards 435DEX-6G1 fits
This explosionproof bell is part of the 435EX hazardous-location series. Therefore, it suits refineries, petrochemical plants, and gasoline storage and dispensing areas. In addition, spray-paint booths, aircraft hangars, and grain or flour mills are typical sites. As a result, plant safety engineers use it for general alarm, paging, timing, and scheduling.
Construction
First, the bell uses a NEMA Type 4 explosionproof housing. Then, a diode-polarized vibrating mechanism strikes the 6-inch gong continuously while power is applied. Also, the rugged housing is suitable for outdoor service.

What this bell is not
Importantly, this is an industrial signaling bell, not a fire alarm notification appliance. Therefore, it is not listed to UL 464 (audible signal appliances) or UL 1638 (visual signaling appliances). For fire alarm notification appliance circuits, specify a UL 464–listed device instead.
