The Fireray 1000-018 is a protective wire cage. Specifically, it is designed for the Fireray 3000 and Fireray 5000 beam-detector heads. As a result, the cage shields the optical detector head from accidental physical damage.
In addition, the 1000-018 is the manufacturer’s approved cage for the 3000 and 5000 series. Therefore, it does not interfere with the optical beam path when properly fitted.
What the Cage Is For
Beam-detector heads are often mounted high above the floor. However, in some environments they sit within reach of forklifts, ladders, sports activities, or moving equipment. Therefore, a protective cage reduces the risk of impact damage.
Specifically, the 1000-018 surrounds the detector head with a rigid wire enclosure. As a result, it deflects accidental impact while leaving the optical face open.
Designed to Fit the 3000 and 5000
The cage is sized for the Fireray 3000 and 5000 detector heads. In addition, it has mounting holes for optional use with the 5000-011 Uni-Box. As a result, installers can mount the cage cleanly alongside the detector enclosure.
