The fireray (5000-031) is a Fireray 5000 detector head supplied with a prism. It is a motorized, reflective beam smoke detector. Specifically, it auto-aligns to its prism after installation.
In addition, the detector projects an infrared beam to the reflective prism. The prism returns the beam to the receiver. As a result, smoke crossing the beam reduces the signal and raises an alarm.
How the fireray (5000-031) Aligns
First, mount the head using the easyfit bracket. Then activate the integral laser to find the prism quickly. Finally, the motorized head aligns itself for accurate detection.
This detector covers 8 m to 100 m (26 ft to 328 ft) on one beam. Therefore, it protects large, open areas efficiently. For example, warehouses, hangars, and high-ceiling retail spaces are common applications.
