The Notifier FST-951R is an intelligent addressable heat detector head with two sensing elements. Specifically, it combines a 135°F fixed-temperature element with a 15°F-per-minute rate-of-rise element. The FST-951R is the white, FlashScan-only sensor in the FST-951 series.
What the Notifier FST-951R does
First, the rate-of-rise element triggers when air temperature climbs faster than 15°F (8.3°C) per minute. Then, the fixed-temperature element trips at 135°F. As a result, the detector catches both fast-developing fires and slow heat build-up.
In addition, the head uses thermistor sensing and rotary decimal addressing. Therefore, installers commission each device by setting the address on the head, not the base. Furthermore, the FST-951R supports remote test from the panel.
