The Notifier FTM-1 is an addressable firephone control module that connects firefighter telephones to a centralized telephone console. It is a FlashScan®-protocol device used with NOTIFIER NFS-series fire alarm control panels.
First, the FTM-1 connects a remote firefighter telephone circuit to the panel. Then it reports normal, off-hook, and trouble conditions back to the FACP. As a result, the panel can monitor firefighter phone status as part of the addressable system.
Specifically, the FTM-1 monitors and controls a circuit of up to two firefighter phones. In addition, wiring between the module and the phone jacks and handsets is supervised. Therefore, technicians get supervision on the entire phone branch, not just the module itself.
