The Notifier FZM-1 is an addressable interface module for monitoring conventional two-wire smoke detectors. It connects to any Notifier FlashScan or CLIP signaling line circuit. Specifically, it lets an intelligent panel see a full zone of two-wire smokes as one addressable point.

First, the FZM-1 powers and supervises the connected two-wire smoke loop. Then, it reports the zone status (normal, open, or alarm) back to the FACP. As a result, the panel can localize the alarm to the FZM-1’s address while still using legacy two-wire heads.

Where the Notifier FZM-1 fits

Use this module to bring older conventional two-wire smoke loops onto a modern addressable panel. In addition, it works when retrofitting a system without rewiring every detector. However, all two-wire detectors on the circuit must be UL-compatible with the FZM-1.

Address selection uses two built-in rotary switches. Furthermore, addresses run from 01–159 on FlashScan loops and 01–99 on CLIP loops. A panel-controlled LED flashes during normal communication, then latches steady red on alarm.
