The Edwards INT-7ARW is an Integrity Series 757-Series speaker-strobe in white with 70 V operation and 15/75 candela strobe output. First, the strobe provides 15 cd output for wall and ceiling per UL 1971. As a result, the appliance covers both wall and ceiling installations per code. In addition, the 75 cd on-axis rating per UL 1638 and ADA Code addresses 28 CFR Chapter 36 requirements.
This appliance combines a 70 Vrms voice-evacuation speaker with a synchronized strobe in one housing. Specifically, the speaker uses a sealed-back mylar cone for durability and improved audibility. Furthermore, an integral DC blocking capacitor allows electrical supervision of the audio circuit.
Speaker Configuration
Wattage taps are field-selectable for 1/4 W, 1/2 W, 1 W, or 2 W operation. Then sound pressure level at 10 feet ranges from 78 dBA (1/4 W) to 87 dBA (2 W) per UL 1480 reverberation measurement. Also, the 70 V circuit lets installers distribute many speakers over long wire runs from a single audio amplifier.
Strobe Specifications and Synchronization
The Edwards INT-7ARW strobe operates on continuous 16 to 33 VDC. Specifically, the strobe must connect to a constant – not pulsed – voltage signal circuit. Typical current at 24 VDC is 90 mA RMS. Furthermore, strobes synchronize within 10 milliseconds over a two-hour period when used with a sync source.
Synchronization Sources
Compatible sync modules include the G1M-RM Genesis Signal Master, SIGA-CC1S and SIGA-MCC1S intelligent sync modules, BPS6A and BPS10A booster power supplies. As a result, the INT-7ARW integrates cleanly with Edwards Genesis and Integrity strobes on the same circuit per UL 1971 sync requirements.
Mounting and Lens Markings
The appliance flush-mounts to a North American 4-inch square electrical box with a 1-1/2 inch extension ring (USA). For Canadian installations using Iberville Commander extension rings, a 2-1/8 inch deep extension ring is required. The LKW-1 “FIRE” wall-orientation lens kit is supplied standard. Also, optional lens markings (EMERGENCY, ALARM, SMOKE, FUEGO, FEU) are available via the LKW Series.
