The Kidde 1500-7 is a catch plate extension assembly for the Edwards/Kidde 1500-series electromagnetic door holders. Specifically, it extends the door-side armature 5.25 to 7.5 inches from the holder face. As a result, installers can engage doors that sit further from the wall or floor than a standard mounting allows.
First, the 1500-7 is sold as the extension rod only. Then, the end pieces ship with the parent door holder (or can be ordered separately). Therefore, the 1500-7 mates to existing 1500-series hardware rather than replacing it.
