The Kidde KIR-COD is an intelligent carbon monoxide detector with rotary addressing. Specifically, it connects to the Kidde FX-64 or FX-1000 intelligent panel SLC loop. As a result, the panel reports CO events by precise device address.
In addition, the detector uses electrochemical CO sensing. Therefore, it responds to actual carbon monoxide concentration in the protected space.
Kidde KIR-COD application
First, install the detector on a matching KI-SB or other compatible Kidde mounting base. Then, set the device address with the rotary switches. As a result, the panel auto-maps the detector during configuration.
Furthermore, the KIR-COD pairs with companion KIR-OSD optical smoke detectors and KIR-OSCD multisensor units on the same loop. Therefore, one SLC can carry mixed smoke, CO, and multisensor detection.
Compatibility
The KIR-COD works only with Kidde Intelligent Loop control panels (FX-64 / FX-1000). Therefore, do not specify it for conventional FX-5 / FX-10 panels or for non-Kidde intelligent loops.
