The Mircom DHSBPC-1-1 is a replacement door holder armature assembly for magnetic fire-door holders. Specifically, it consists of the catch plate and swivel base that mount to the door itself. As a result, when the holder magnet releases on fire alarm, the door swings closed automatically.
In addition, the DHSBPC armature is sold under several brand badges, including Mircom, Simplex, FireLite, Potter/Amseco, and RSG/Aames. Therefore, the replacement part is interchangeable across these systems when the door-side hardware matches.
How the Mircom DHSBPC-1-1 Works
First, the magnetic door holder mounts to the wall and stays energized during normal building operation. Then, the armature on the door is held against the magnet. As a result, the door stays open.
Furthermore, when a fire alarm trips, the door holder loses power. Therefore, the magnet releases the armature. Also, the door’s own closer pulls it shut and seals off the compartment.
