The Notifier N100-ISO is a Fault Isolator Module for FireWarden series fire alarm control panels. Specifically, it protects an SLC loop against wire-to-wire short circuits. As a result, a localized short does not take down devices outside the affected segment.
The module sits between groups of addressable devices on the SLC. First, when a short occurs between two N100-ISO modules, both isolate that segment automatically. Then, devices outside the segment continue to communicate with the panel normally.
How the Notifier N100-ISO behaves
An integral LED blinks during normal operation and stays steady when a short is detected. Furthermore, the N100-ISO is required for true NFPA Style 7 operation on the FireWarden SLC. Also, the module clears and restores the loop automatically once the short is removed; no technician reset is required.
The N100-ISO is powered directly from the SLC loop — no external power is needed. In addition, it does not require an address. However, the N100-ISO supports a maximum of 25 addressable devices between isolators (with standard bases). The count adjusts when using relay bases.
