The Notifier NFN-GW-PC-F is a PCI-slot NOTI·FIRE·NET gateway card with multimode fiber media. Specifically, it connects an ONYXWorks fire monitoring workstation to a standard NFN network. As a result, the workstation can monitor, control, and program every Notifier panel on the trunk from a single PC.
This card installs directly in a free PCI slot on the workstation. In addition, the PCI bus supplies all required power, so no external supply is needed. Furthermore, the multimode-fiber media path provides electrical isolation between the workstation and the NFN trunk. Therefore, surge and ground-loop risk drop significantly versus a copper-trunk connection.
Notifier NFN-GW-PC-F capabilities
- Monitors alarm, pre-alarm, trouble, and disabled events from networked Notifier FACPs
- Supports acknowledge, silence, reset, enable/disable, and activate/deactivate from the workstation
- Supports FACP programming uploads, downloads, and modifications
- Provides gateway redundancy for network survivability when paired with a second gateway
- Multimode fiber media for trunk connection
