The Notifier ABS-4D is a single-row backbox enclosure for fire alarm annunciators. Specifically, it houses up to four ACS-series annunciator modules, the SCS-8 or SCE-8, or the Intelligent Network Annunciator. In addition, the enclosure accepts the NCA-2 when ordered with the NCA-2Retro kit.
First, the backbox supports surface mounting out of the box. Then, a trim ring (ordered separately) converts the same enclosure to semi-flush installation. As a result, technicians can reuse one enclosure design across new and retrofit jobs.
Notifier ABS-4D physical dimensions and access
The box measures 11.97 in. high, 19.87 in. wide, and 3.50 in. deep. In metric, that is 30.40 × 50.47 × 8.89 cm. Furthermore, conduit access is generous: five knockouts on the top, five on the bottom, and three on the back.
The locking door includes a clear Lexan viewing window and two keys. As a result, authorized personnel can read annunciator status without opening the enclosure. The ABS-4D is available in gray or red finishes.
NCA-2 mounting note
For NCA-2 installations, order the CHS-2D chassis and the NCA-2Retro kit. Then, mount the NCA-2 in the center position with a BMP-1 blank plate on each side.
