The Potter Electric Signal PAD300-PCD is a UL 268 7th Edition photoelectric smoke and CO combination detector. First, the photo sensor detects smoke across a wide sensitivity range. Then, the electrochemical CO sensor detects carbon monoxide for life safety. As a result, one device covers two distinct life-safety threats from a single ceiling location.

The smoke sensor complies with UL 268 7th Edition enhanced sensitivity tests. Specifically, the alarm range is 1.1 to 3.5%/ft. In addition, the photo sensor features drift compensation and built-in dirty detector warning. Therefore, the unit stays calibrated through normal dust accumulation.
The CO sensor is electrochemical and listed to UL 2075. Furthermore, it reports CO alarms at three UL-required levels: 70 ppm, 150 ppm, and 400 ppm. Also, the unit includes a built-in walk-test mode for fast CO sensor validation.
System integration
The PAD300-PCD uses Potter’s PAD protocol. Furthermore, it consumes one SLC address per detector. Specifically, the address sets with DIP switches in the rear. Therefore, no programming tool is required.
The total polling speed is less than five seconds. In addition, the LED flashes each poll cycle. Also, the polling LED can be disabled in the field if needed.

Compatible bases
The PAD300-PCD twists onto any PAD300 series base. Specifically, PAD300-4DB (3992781) and PAD300-6DB (3992782) are standard bases. In addition, PAD300-IB (3992783) adds an isolator. Also, PAD300-RB (3992784) adds a Form C relay rated 2 A @ 30 VDC. Furthermore, PAD300-SB (3992785) adds a sounder. Finally, PAD300-LFSB (3992786) adds a 520 Hz low-frequency sounder for sleeping areas. Therefore, integrators pick the base by isolation, relay, or sounder need.
