DSC (PG4914) Wireless powerg motion detector

The DSC PG4914 is a PowerG wireless pet-immune indoor PIR motion detector for intrusion-alarm systems. It operates on the 433 MHz PowerG band — the international (CE) variant, not the North American 915 MHz frequency.

The PG4914 is a security/intrusion sensor. Therefore, it pairs with PowerG-compatible intrusion panels — not with fire alarm panels.

First, the digital PIR uses an Advanced True Motion Recognition algorithm to distinguish real intruders from environmental noise. As a result, false-alarm rates drop in challenging indoor spaces. In addition, pet immunity ignores animals weighing up to 85 lb. Furthermore, PowerG uses adaptive frequency hopping with AES-128 encryption for a jam-resistant link.

Important Frequency Note

The PG4914 is the 433 MHz PowerG variant for international markets. For installations in North America, order the 915 MHz variant PG9914 instead. Also, confirm the panel’s PowerG frequency before ordering. Mixing 433 MHz and 915 MHz devices will not link.

Important Application Note

The PG4914 is an indoor intrusion PIR. Therefore, do not connect it to a fire alarm SLC or use it as a fire-system input. For fire-system detection, use a UL 268-listed smoke detector or a UL 521-listed heat detector instead.
