The POTTER PCVS-2-CRH is a corrosion-resistant control valve supervisory switch for fire sprinkler systems. It monitors the open position of post indicator valves and butterfly valves. In addition, the CRH variant adds 316 stainless steel mounting hardware. As a result, the unit suits coastal, industrial, and other corrosive environments.
How the POTTER PCVS-2-CRH Operates
The PCVS-2-CRH is a spring-loaded trip-rod switch. When the valve closes, the actuator moves away from the trip rod. As a result, the spring pulls the rod over and trips the two Form C switches. Specifically, the switch operates within the first two revolutions of the valve handwheel.
Furthermore, the unit mounts directly into a 1/2-inch NPT tapped hole in the valve housing. The trip rod is adjustable in length. Therefore, installers can match the rod to a wide range of valve geometries.
Construction and Enclosure
The cover is weather-, UV-, and flame-resistant high-impact composite. Also, the die-cast base has a black powder coat finish. All parts use corrosion-resistant finishes. Two tamper-resistant cover screws require the supplied special tool to remove. Therefore, the unit detects tampering and valve closure.
