The Edwards SA-CLA is the Class A option card for the iO64 fire alarm panel. It adds Class A return wiring to the panel NACs, the Signature device loop, and the annunciator loop. Per the Edwards datasheet, the SA-CLA is for iO64 only; the iO500 is Class A ready and does not need this card.
How the Edwards SA-CLA installs
First, the card mounts directly to the iO64 main circuit board. Then plastic standoffs and a plug connection secure it without ribbon cables. As a result, the NAC return terminals on the SA-CLA become the Class A return path for both panel NAC circuits.
What the card supports
Once installed, the iO64 NAC circuits can be wired Class A at 2.5 amps per circuit. In addition, the Signature analog device loop can be wired Class A back to the loop card. Furthermore, the eight-drop remote annunciator bus can run Class A back to the panel.
Electrical and environmental
Operating voltage is 24 VFWR. Each NAC circuit is rated 2.5 A. Total output is 3.75 A at 115/230 VAC 60 Hz, or 3.0 A at 230 VAC 50 Hz. Maximum NAC impedance is 26 ohms with 0.35 µF capacitance. Terminals accept 12 to 18 AWG.
Ordering notes
One SA-CLA per iO64 panel that requires Class A wiring. iO500 installations do not order this part.
