The Secutron MR-401RP is an addressable fire alarm control panel. It supports up to three SLC loops and 720 MRI-4000 Series devices. As a result, it suits small to medium commercial jobs.
The panel ships pre-assembled. Specifically, the box includes the mainboard, power supply, transformer, main display, black back box, and a red door enclosure. The “RP” suffix marks the password-protected, non-proprietary variant.
Loop Capacity and Device Support
First, the MR-401RP ships with one SLC loop ready to use. Each loop supports up to 240 MRI-4000 Series addressable devices. In addition, the optional ALC-480 Dual Loop Adder expands the panel to three SLC loops. Therefore, total device capacity reaches 720.
Furthermore, the panel works with the full MRI-4000 lineup. Specifically, this includes photoelectric and multi-sensor detectors, dual and multi input modules, dual and multi relay modules, supervised output modules, sync modules, and isolators.
Notification and Auxiliary Outputs
The MR-401RP provides four Class B (or Class A) power-limited NAC circuits. Each NAC is rated 1.5 A maximum, with 6.0 A total across all four. Also, NAC outputs support continuous, temporal, March Time, and California Code patterns. In addition, the panel is compatible with MGC, Gentex, Eaton/Wheelock, and System Sensor strobe sync protocols.
Auxiliary outputs include 24 V DC regulated, 24 V FWR unfiltered, and a resettable auxiliary supply. Furthermore, the panel ships with common alarm, supervisory, trouble, and auxiliary Form C relays rated 28 V DC / 1 A.
Display, Programming, and Communications
The main display is a 4 × 20 backlit LCD. Additionally, a USB port on the mainboard supports field programming and firmware updates. The panel also features auto-configuration via the main display.
A built-in POTS dialer reports events to a central station over two phone lines. Furthermore, the dialer uses SIA and Ademco Contact ID protocols. An RS-485 bus supports up to seven remote annunciators (RAX-LCD-LITE, RAM-3500-LCD, MR-2312-SR12, and RA-1000 Series).
