The Fire-Lite SEISKIT-BB100 is a seismic mounting kit for the BB-100 and BB-200 battery backboxes. Specifically, the kit includes a battery bracket sized for two 100 Ah batteries. As a result, installers can secure the backbox batteries against shifting during a seismic event. In addition, the bracket maintains correct battery position and electrical alignment under sustained vibration.
Fire-Lite SEISKIT-BB100 kit contents
Each kit ships with a battery bracket, two support tabs, and six nuts. The hardware fastens the support tabs to the backbox. Then the bracket bolts down across the two 100 Ah cells. Therefore, one kit covers a single BB-100 backbox completely.
Using the kit with the BB-200
The BB-200 backbox holds two pairs of 100 Ah batteries. As a result, the BB-200 requires two SEISKIT-BB100 kits for a fully restrained installation. First, install one kit to secure the lower battery pair. Then install the second kit to secure the upper pair. Application notes
Use this kit wherever the local building code or AHJ requires seismic restraint of fire alarm batteries. Also, refer to the IBC, ASCE 7, and the host panel’s installation manual for jurisdiction-specific seismic requirements.
