The Siemens DMC-1 is a Digital Message Card for the MXL and MXLV fire alarm systems. Its Siemens part number is 500-893000.
First, the DMC-1 stores digitized voice messages for EVAC and ALERT use. Therefore, the host panel can speak full voice messages instead of plain tones. In addition, a factory library of recorded phrases is available for configuration.
Users build messages from those phrases through the CSG-M (AccuLINK) configuration tool. However, custom phrases are also possible — record them onto the DMC-1 with a microphone or tape recorder. As a result, sites can tailor evacuation messages to their building or tenant.

Where the DMC-1 Fits
Use the DMC-1 on MXLV voice-evac sites that need digital messaging in place of tones. Furthermore, sites already running the OMM-1 card cage can add a DMC-1 without expanding the chassis. However, verify the existing MMB version (MMB-1 vs MMB-2) before ordering, as the DMC-1 reports through that module.
