The Siemens HFP-11 is an addressable multi-criteria fire detector. Its part number is 500-033290. The detector combines photoelectric smoke sensing with a solid-state thermal element. Specifically, it is built for the Siemens FireFinder XLS addressable platform.
First, the photoelectric chamber detects smoke particles. Then, the thermal sensor monitors temperature changes in parallel. As a result, the device can identify both slow-smouldering and fast-flaming fires. Therefore, the HFP-11 reduces nuisance alarms in challenging environments. For example, kitchens, laundry rooms, and storage areas are typical fits.
Important Note on Availability of the Siemens HFP-11
Siemens has discontinued the HFP-11. However, Life Safety Consultants still supports the install base in two ways. First, we stock reconditioned HFP-11RC units for like-for-like replacement. Alternatively, the recommended new replacement is the Siemens OP921. The OP921 uses the same plug-in base and typically does not require panel reprogramming.
How the HFP-11 Works
The detector communicates individually with the FireFinder XLS panel. Therefore, the panel reports the detector’s precise location on alarm. In addition, FirePrint technology evaluates the chamber signals against pre-set hazard profiles. As a result, deceptive phenomena get filtered before triggering an alarm.
Also, the HFP-11 runs self-diagnostics every 4 seconds. This means health issues surface quickly at the panel, not weeks later in a test cycle.

Compatible Panels

Service Life Reminder
NFPA 72 recommends replacing smoke detectors after 10 years of service. Therefore, if your HFP-11s are at or past that age, plan proactive replacement. Persistent panel trouble signals or repeated nuisance alarms also indicate it’s time to replace.
