The Siemens ZIC-4A is a Zone Indicating Card for Siemens FireFinder XLS and Modular fire panels. Specifically, it provides four fully supervised, programmable output circuits. As a result, designers add flexible notification and control outputs to the panel.
Siemens ZIC-4A output circuits
Each of the four circuits is independently programmable. First, installers can wire them Class B (Style Y) or Class A (Style Z). Then each circuit drives listed audible or visual notification appliances. In addition, circuits can serve emergency-audio speakers, municipal tie, leased line, or releasing functions.
The card supports coded or non-coded signaling. Therefore, it suits both simple zones and synchronized notification layouts.
Installation and status indication
The ZIC-4A plugs into one slot in a Model CC-5 or CC-2 card cage. Furthermore, on-board LEDs report power, communication, internal operation, and ground-fault conditions. They also indicate circuit activation and trouble conditions for fast troubleshooting.
Listing
The FireFinder XLS parent panel carries the UL 864 fire alarm control unit listing. As a result, the listing applies at the panel level rather than to the card alone.
