The Edwards SIGA-RB4 is the 4 inch square-box variant of the Signature Series SIGA-RB Relay Detector Base. It accepts any Signature Series detector head and provides a Form C dry-contact relay output for auxiliary control. In addition, the SIGA-RB4 ships with the SIGA-TS4 Trim Skirt that covers the mounting ears on the base for a clean ceiling finish.
Edwards SIGA-RB4 relay operation
The dry contact is rated for 1 amp pilot duty at 30 VDC. Normally Open or Normally Closed operation is selected during installation. Furthermore, the relay position is supervised to detect accidental disturbance out of position. Also, the SIGA-RB4 can be programmed at the control panel to operate as a control relay.
Wiring terminals
Terminal 1: Normally-Open. Terminal 2: DATA IN/OUT (+). Terminal 3: Common. Terminal 4: DATA IN (-). Terminal 5: Not used. Terminal 6: Normally-Closed. Terminal 7: DATA OUT (-). However, the SIGA-RB4 relay base does NOT support the SIGA-LED Remote LED. For remote LED indication, use the SIGA-SB or SIGA-SB4 Standard Detector Base.
Compatible electrical boxes
North American 1-gang box. 3-1/2 in by 1-1/2 in (38 mm) deep octagon box. 4 in by 1-1/2 in (38 mm) deep octagon box. 4 in by 1-1/2 in (38 mm) deep square box (using outer mounting brackets on the base). Also European 1-gang (75 mm) box with 60.3 mm fixing centers and BESA box. In addition, max wall-mount distance from ceiling is 12 in (305 mm).
Wiring
The base accepts 12, 14, 16, or 18 AWG wire. Sizes 16 and 18 are preferred. Break the wire run at each terminal — do NOT loop signaling-circuit field wires around terminals. Furthermore, write the assigned detector address on the supplied label and apply it to the inside rim of the base.

Compatible Detectors: all Signature Series detector heads, including SIGA-OSHD, SIGA-OSHCD, SIGA-PS, SIGA-IPHS, SIGA-H2D, SIGA-HFS series. Operating temperature: 32 to 120°F (0 to 49°C). Operating humidity: 0 to 93% RH. Storage temperature: -4 to 140°F (-20 to 60°C). Construction: high-impact engineering polymer, white. Shipping weight: 3.2 oz (91 g). Furthermore, the SIGA-RB4 ships with the SIGA-TS4 Trim Skirt included (not sold separately for 4 in bases).
