The Simplex 4009-9808 adapter is the Class A option card for the 4009 IDNet NAC Extender. It converts the extender’s notification appliance circuits to Class A wiring. As a result, the circuits keep working through a single open-circuit fault.
What the Simplex 4009-9808 adapter does
Class B wiring drops a circuit downstream of a break. However, Class A wiring routes power back from the far end. Therefore, a single open does not silence the appliances beyond it. This card adds that fault tolerance to the 4009 extender’s NACs.
Where it fits
The 4009-9808 installs inside the 4009 IDNet NAC Extender as an option card. It suits projects that require Class A notification wiring. In addition, it pairs with the extender’s IDNet connection to a Simplex host panel.
