The Simplex 4901-9859 is a compact TrueAlert electronic mini horn in a white finish. It provides audible-only fire alarm notification for spaces where a full-size horn or horn/strobe combination is not needed. As a result, it works well in restrooms, corridors, utility closets, and other smaller rooms.
The 4901-9859 operates on a standard 24 VDC notification appliance circuit. In addition, the white housing blends with most commercial ceilings and wall finishes. First specify the audible coverage you need, then confirm visual notification is handled by separate strobes per NFPA 72 and ADA.
Where the Simplex 4901-9859 Fits Best
Many code-required spaces only need supplemental audible coverage. The mini horn is sized for those locations. For example, it suits private offices, restrooms, small breakrooms, and tight corridor sections. Therefore, you can avoid mounting a larger horn or horn/strobe where it would be visually intrusive.
However, the 4901-9859 is audible only. As a result, you still need visual notification appliances in spaces where strobes are required by code.
