The Hochiki SLR-835 is a conventional photoelectric smoke detector head. It uses an infrared LED light source and a silicon photo diode receiving element. As a result, the smoke chamber catches light scattered by smoke particles.
In normal standby, two bicolored LEDs flash green every three seconds. However, if sensitivity drifts outside the UL listed window, the LEDs flash red every three seconds instead. Then, when the detector senses smoke and enters alarm, the status LEDs latch on red.
Hochiki SLR-835 Application
The SLR-835 detects fires ranging from smoldering to flaming. Therefore, it suits most areas where a photoelectric sensor is specified. In addition, the visible LED behavior lets technicians read detector status during inspection.
Compatible Bases
This unit ships as a detector head only. Specifically, the SLR-835 mounts to the following Hochiki conventional bases. First, the NS4 Series bases are compatible. Then, the NS6 Series bases also work. In addition, the HSC-4R and HSC-(X)R style bases are supported.
