The STI STI-1100 is an indoor Stopper II protective cover for flush-mount fire alarm pull stations. Specifically, it adds an integrated piezo horn that sounds the moment the cover is lifted. As a result, you get an audible warning before the pull station itself is activated.
This cover has been deployed worldwide for more than 30 years. Therefore, it is one of the most field-proven solutions for reducing false fire alarms.
How the STI STI-1100 Stops False Alarms
First, a tamperproof polycarbonate shield sits over the protected pull station. Then, when someone lifts the cover, it detaches from the frame on a connecting cable. As a result, the self-contained piezo horn begins sounding.
The horn sounds either 95 dB or 105 dB at 1 foot, depending on the option ordered. Furthermore, the horn keeps sounding until the cover is snapped back into place — or until the battery dies. Therefore, accidental and mischievous activations are discouraged before the pull station is ever pulled.
Where the STI-1100 Fits
The STI-1100 is designed for flush-mounted pull station installations. Specifically, it suits schools, colleges, hospitals, nursing homes, hotels, retail stores, and other public buildings. In addition, the bright red cover keeps the protected pull station highly visible during a real emergency.
For larger contractor orders, the same product is also available as the STI-1100CP6 six-pack. Single STI-1100 units are ideal for replacements, testing, or small jobs.

Important Notes
- The horn power supply is self-contained — UL Listing does not permit it to be connected to a UL-listed fire alarm system.
- For outdoor installations, UL requires the underlying pull station to be listed for outdoor use. The STI-1100 is indoor rated; for outdoor use, see the STI-1150 Weather Stopper instead.
- For surface-mount pull stations or thicker housings, the STI-1130 (with included spacer) is the proper Stopper II variant.
