The Edwards 270-SPO pull station is a single-action, break-glass manual initiating device. First, a user breaks the glass rod. Then, the station latches in alarm until reset with the key. As a result, accidental activation is unlikely in normal traffic areas.
Specifically, the “SPO” designation means Single Pole, Open. Therefore, the alarm contact is normally open and closes on activation. In addition, screw terminals make field wiring straightforward for the installing technician.
Edwards 270-SPO pull station construction
The 270 series uses a die-cast metal body painted red with silver stripes. Furthermore, the rugged casting holds up in schools, offices, and industrial corridors. Also, either flush or surface mounting is supported. For flush installs, use a standard 4-inch North American square box with a single-gang plaster cover.
