The Simplex 4090-9001 is an Individual Addressable Module (IAM) designed to provide supervised monitoring of normally open, dry contact input devices on IDNet and MAPNET II addressable fire alarm systems. Each 4090-9001 occupies a single address point on the IDNet or MAPNET II loop, allowing the connected panel to identify exactly which input device has changed state — sprinkler tamper switches, waterflow switches, conventional detector zones, or other contact closure initiating devices.
The 4090-9001 powers and communicates over a single two-wire IDNet or MAPNET II pair, supervised to the module. Wiring from the module to the monitored contact device is Class B with a supervision resistor, with a maximum wiring run of 500 ft (152 m) to the EOL resistor. An onboard LED provides visual status indication at the module location.

The 4090-9001 is rated for indoor locations up to 158°F (70°C), making it suitable for attic spaces and similar high-temperature indoor applications. For outdoor or electrically noisy environments, use with Simplex 2081-9044 overvoltage protectors. The encapsulated version 4090-9051 is available for high-humidity applications where the LED is not required.
