The Silent Knight 005815RMK (also listed as 5815RMK) is a remote mounting kit cabinet. It lets you install up to two Silent Knight 5815XL signaling line circuit (SLC) expanders in a single cabinet. As a result, you can place SLC expansion hardware away from the main fire alarm control panel. Installation and wiring must follow NFPA 72 and local ordinances.
Silent Knight 005815RMK Mounting Guidelines
Honeywell’s installation sheet stresses protecting the cabinet and its contents from water. Therefore, do not mount it directly on exterior walls, especially masonry, where condensation forms. Likewise, avoid below-grade exterior walls, plumbing leak zones, and splash from sprinkler inspection ports. Also keep it away from humidity-generating equipment such as dryers or production machinery. Finally, mount it indoors in a dry location within the listed temperature range.
The kit includes a locking cabinet with a removable door and mounting plate. Eight standoffs are included for mounting the expander boards. However, handle the electronics carefully — the 5815XL and FACP boards are static sensitive. Wear a grounding strap when handling any of the boards.
