The Genesis 21145501 is an 18 AWG, 2-conductor stranded riser communications cable from Southwire’s Genesis® line. It carries the Type CMR riser rating. As a result, this cable suits security, access control, intercom, audio, and other Class 2/3 low-voltage circuits. It is NOT FPLR fire alarm rated. The cable ships in a 500-foot pull box with a white PVC jacket.

Installation Notes
First, the CMR rating allows installation in vertical risers per NEC Article 800. However, this specific SKU is NOT FPLR fire alarm rated. Therefore, do not specify it on fire alarm initiating, signaling, or notification appliance circuits. As a result, installers needing fire alarm cable should select a Genesis 43xxx FPLR-rated cable instead.
