The Edwards 3-BATS is a steel battery shelf for the EST3 RCC (Remote Closet Cabinet) series enclosures. First, the shelf installs in one chassis space inside an RCC cabinet. Then, one 65 Ah battery (or two 50 Ah batteries) rests on the shelf. As a result, RCC cabinets gain enough battery footprint to support extended-standby calculations without an external battery cabinet.
Specifically, the 3-BATS consumes one chassis space, which reduces the RCC’s module capacity by one chassis. Therefore, plan the chassis budget for the panel modules before adding the 3-BATS. In addition, the shelf’s two-50 Ah option suits installations that need slightly less capacity but split into more manageable battery weights.
Edwards 3-BATS application
Use the 3-BATS inside any RCC series cabinet (such as 3-RCC7, 3-RCC14) where standby battery capacity above the cabinet’s default footprint is required. Furthermore, the shelf is the OEM-specified path for landing a single 65 Ah battery in an RCC. Also, the part also accommodates two 50 Ah batteries in pairs for installations sized between 40 and 65 Ah of net standby.

The 3-BATS is a passive shelf, so it carries no part-level UL listing. However, when the EST3 RCC cabinet, panel modules, and listed batteries are installed together, the assembly is covered by the EST3 system listing under UL 864. As a result, the 3-BATS contributes to a compliant standby-power arrangement without needing its own certification.
