The Simplex 4007-9810 is the Modular Network Interface Card (NIC) for the 4007ES fire alarm control panel. First, it lets the 4007ES join a Simplex Fire Alarm Network. As a result, a 4007ES can exchange alarm, supervisory, and trouble information with other Simplex panels on the same network.
Specifically, the 4007-9810 is a modular host card that accepts two media modules. In addition, those media modules determine the physical layer: copper wire or fiber optic. Fiber-optic links between nodes are point-to-point continuous (unswitched) connections.
Where the Simplex 4007-9810 fits
The card mounts in block L of the 4007ES enclosure. Furthermore, it can sit with or without additional modules below it in blocks G and H. As a result, the 4007ES retains room for other plug-in cards while still gaining network capability.
Typical applications include multi-building campuses, healthcare facilities, and high-rise office complexes that operate distributed Simplex panels. However, this NIC pairs only with the 4007ES platform. It is not a drop-in module for the 4010, 4100ES, or 4100U.
