The Simplex 4098-9789E is the export version of the 4098-9789 TrueAlarm SSD sensor base with remote LED output. First, the base hosts a Simplex TrueAlarm photoelectric, ionization, or heat sensor head. As a result, the sensor on this base can be installed and serviced as part of a standard Simplex addressable loop.
Specifically, the base mounts to a 4-inch square, single-gang, or 4-inch octagonal electrical box. In addition, it provides terminals for a 2098-9808 remote LED alarm indicator and a 4098-9822 unsupervised relay. However, the 4098-9822 relay requires a separate 24 VDC supply.
Simplex 4098-9789E compatibility
The 4098-9789E communicates over Simplex MAPNET II or IDNet wiring. As a result, both power and data ride on the same two-conductor addressable loop. Furthermore, the digital reading from the connected sensor is reported to the panel on a continuous polling cycle.
Typical applications include commercial offices, schools, healthcare facilities, and other buildings running Simplex MAPNET II or IDNet addressable systems. However, this is the export (“E”) dash number. It is rated for a maximum 100 F (38 C) ambient and is manufactured in China.
